"RBI Annual Report 2025: India Poised to Lead Global Growth Amid Strong Fiscal Gains"

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released its Annual Report for the financial year 2024–25 on May 29, 2025. The report highlights India's strong economic performance, with the country projected to remain the fastest-growing major economy in the fiscal year 2025–26, driven by robust macroeconomic fundamentals and a resilient financial sector.

The RBI's net income surged by 27.5% to ₹2.69 lakh crore in FY25, primarily due to gains from foreign exchange transactions and higher interest income from foreign securities. This entire amount has been transferred as a dividend to the central government.

The central bank's balance sheet expanded by 8.2% to ₹76.25 trillion, reflecting its strong financial performance during the fiscal year.
